National Assembly Bulletin #1

Together, anchored in hope and joy, we continue our Christian Life Community journey. We look forward to gathering as One Body in Nanaimo, British Columbia from Thursday, November 14 to Sunday, November 17, 2024.

In a few weeks, General Council will share details of the stream-lined assembly process developed to ease significant assembly expenses and ecological impacts.

Changes for the Nanaimo Assembly will include:

·      Regional proportional representation rather than each community sending a delegate.

·      Prior to the National Assembly, we will hold several virtual spiritual conversation sessions. These sessions will be open to all members and will offer an opportunity to deepen our experience of national communal discernment.

·      Limited spaces for guests and observers.

Since the 2019 Winnipeg Assembly, our journey has taken us through difficult, heart-breaking events. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, your perseverance and commitment have sustained CLC in Canada and around the world through these dark and challenging times.

Our journey continues. Together, we abide in the infinite beauty and love, revealed in Jesus the Christ, the Word made flesh, who is both our companion on the way and our destination.
